The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to join our Melbourne team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse range of commercial fitout projects, collaborating closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. You'll play a key role in managing all contractual, financial, and compliance aspects to support successful project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
• Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating variations to contracts and project documentation.
• Managing progress claims, extension of time (EOT) requests, variation claims, and contractual correspondence.
• Maintaining up-to-date contract registers, ensuring compliance and document accuracy.
• Assisting project managers in preparing cost forecasts, budgets, and project reports.
• Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure adherence to contract terms.
• Identifying potential risks within contract terms and advising management on mitigation strategies.
• Interpreting and communicating contract requirements and conditions to stakeholders.
• Supporting the project team with procurement, documentation, and tender preparation.
What We're Looking For
• A qualification in Building and Construction, Contract Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Diploma level or higher).
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Contract Administrator, preferably within the commercial construction or fitout sector.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and compliance processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management or contract administration software.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
