Our Brand
Established in 1938, Oroton has evolved over the decades to be a modern lifestyle brand, synonymous with craftsmanship, accessible luxury and a unique Australian sense of beauty. We are inspired by our purpose of creating accessible modern luxury for real life and sharing it with the world.
The Role
We're looking for a passionate and driven Buyer to join our superstar Merchandise team at Oroton. In this role, you'll take ownership of our Women's Bags and Accessories ranges while playing a key role in the exciting launch of our Men's Accessories and Homewares categories.
Reporting to the Head of Buying, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering seasonal assortments, analysing performance, and working cross-functionally to bring compelling, customer-first stories to life. This is an exciting growth opportunity that's more than a Buying role – it's a chance to shape category strategy, bring innovation to a heritage brand, and influence the future of Oroton's product offering.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Chippendale Head Office in Sydney.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the end-to-end buying process for boutique accessories, aligning product selections with brand identity and commercial targets.
- Plan and deliver seasonal assortments that balance creativity, craftsmanship, and customer demand.
- Collaborate with Planning team to manage OTB, price architecture, and option count for profitable range builds.
- Analyse sales and market trends to make informed, in-season trading decisions.
- Support the launch of Men's Accessories and Homewares, working with Design and cross-functional teams to build new, brand-aligned categories.
- Assist in developing outlet product strategies that drive growth while maintaining brand integrity.
- Partner with Marketing and VM to deliver compelling product storytelling across channels.
- Provide regular feedback to Design and Production based on sales insights and customer feedback.
- Manage samples, launch documentation, and track product changes from development to in-store.
- Facilitate quarterly sales reviews and contribute to category performance reporting.
- Collaborate on special projects such as capsule collections, partnerships, and sustainability initiatives.
- Contribute to a high-performing team culture through open communication and ongoing improvement.
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in Fashion, Business, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a buying or product development role within fashion, accessories, or lifestyle categories (2 – 4 years ideal).
- Strong commercial acumen – you can balance creativity and data to make strategic decisions.
- Understanding of luxury or premium brand positioning and how to translate brand identity into product.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
- Skilled at analysing sales data, spotting trends, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Proactive, curious, and passionate about product, storytelling, and customer experience.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and growth mindset.
Benefits and Culture:
In joining Oroton, you will be joining a group of talented, fun and supportive individuals who are all committed to their craft and to the enduring success of this Australian iconic brand. You will also enjoy:
- Flexible working options for a hybrid approach to work
- Additional leave policy of 4 Recharge days per year, on top of annual leave entitlements
- Birthday leave
- Learning & development opportunities, with internal promotions a priority
- Generous product discounts and lifestyle benefits (fitness membership discounts, salary packaging options + more)
- 12 weeks Paid Parental Leave including paid superannuation for eligible employees
- Access to our Employee Assistance Program and well-being initiatives
Ready to shape what's next for Oroton? Apply now and bring your expertise to a brand where heritage meets modernity.
Only applicants with working rights in Australia will be considered for this opportunity.
