The Position

Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) is seeking a Head of Education and School Operations to play a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of the organisation and its member schools, enhancing their operational excellence and educational outcomes.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the incoming Head of Education and School Operations is responsible for contributing to strategic direction, leading the provision of school services, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Head of Education and School Operations will represent and advocate for independent schools with relevant statutory and government bodies, lead the ISV school services team, and support ongoing improvement processes, ensuring ISV's values and objectives are effectively communicated across the education sector.

The Head of Education and School Operations will contribute to strategic planning, monitor educational trends, and respond rapidly during crises or issues impacting Independent education. This is a dynamic position that offers the opportunity to influence key educational conversations within the education sector.

The Organisation

Independent Schools Victoria is an organisation committed to the promotion, development and independence of Independent schools and innovative thinking on education and issues affecting those schools.

Membership is voluntary and is open to all registered non-government schools in Victoria. Independent Schools Victoria is a member of the Independent Schools Council of Australia.

It is a member service association supporting more than 230 independent schools state-wide, with over 162,000 students.

Independent Schools Victoria has the four core objectives of:

  • Championing Member Schools – on behalf of members
  • Supporting quality education – for the students of Member Schools
  • Establishing foundations for a lifetime – for students, families and schools, and the community.
