Job Summary:

We are a property development, construction, and in-house property management company with a small part of our activities in the primary producer industry. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper & Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role involves managing financial records, handling bookkeeping tasks, and supporting financial operations related to our business activities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in bookkeeping and accounting and will also assist the General Manager with administrative and financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Bookkeeping Duties:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare BAS quarterly.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements.
  • Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking.
  • Support financial audits and liaise with external accountants as required.

Additional Duties Related to Property Management:

  • Track rental payments and follow up on any outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate records of property-related expenses and income.
  • Support in preparing reports related to property performance and occupancy.

Administrative Support to General Manager:

  • Assist the General Manager with financial and administrative tasks.
  • Prepare reports and documents as required.
  • Support in the coordination of business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Knowledge of property management accounting is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably MYOB) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the real estate, construction, or property management industry.
  • Certification in bookkeeping/accounting/business administration (e.g., AAT, CPA) is a plus.
