Job requirements

We're committed to the development of a safe, skilled, and sustainable rail workforce. Our Trainers play a key role in ensuring best practices are taught and followed across all levels — from new entrants to seasoned operators.

As a Casual Trainer & Assessor, you'll deliver both accredited and non-accredited training and assessments across operational competencies aligned with TLI42622 Certificate IV in Train Driving, including:

  • Shunting
  • Safeworking
  • 2nd Person
  • Rollby
  • Driving Under Instruction
  • Operating Within Defined Limits
  • Verification of Competency (VoC)

This role involves both classroom and practical field delivery across various client and training sites. It's perfect for professionals seeking flexibility while continuing to make a real impact in rail.

Job responsibilities

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116)
  • Certificate IV in Train Driving (TLI42622)
  • Experience delivering training and assessment in rail operations
  • Strong knowledge of RTO compliance, safety systems, and RSNL
  • Ability to meet Cat 1 rail medical requirements
  • Willingness to travel for training delivery across NSW and beyond

Desirable:

  • Experience conducting VoCs across various operators
  • Familiarity with SMS implementation or digital learning platforms
