We are hiring for a Production Scheduler to join us for a 12 months fixed term (with potential for extension) based in our Braeside Manufacturing Site

Purpose of role:

The Production Scheduler operates at the heart of Blackmores' manufacturing and production environment, playing a critical role in aligning production activities with business objectives and customer expectations. This role ensures that manufacturing schedules are strategically planned and executed to meet demand, optimise resource utilisation, and support timely product delivery.

This role will report to the Production Planning Manager and you will be working from our Braeside Manufacturing Site at least 4 days a week and 1 day from home.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop and Maintain Production Schedules: Create and manage detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules that align with customer demand, resource availability, and business objectives.

  • Optimise Resource Utilisation: Ensure efficient use of labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity and minimise waste.

  • Monitor and Manage Inventory Levels: Track raw materials and finished goods inventory to prevent stockouts and overproduction, ensuring timely availability for production needs.

  • Analyse Production Data and Trends: Collect and interpret production metrics to identify inefficiencies, forecast potential issues, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Coordinate Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, quality, sourcing, and planning teams to align schedules, resolve conflicts, and maintain smooth production flow.

  • Respond to Production Disruptions: Adjust schedules proactively in response to equipment failures, supply delays, or urgent demand changes to minimise downtime and maintain delivery commitments.

  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in process improvement projects aimed at enhancing scheduling accuracy, reducing costs, and improving overall operational efficiency

Who are you? 

  • Education background: A degree in supply chain management, production management, engineering or anything related

  • Experience with ERP Systems – Proficiency in platforms like SAP or Oracle for managing production and inventory data.

  • CPIM or Equivalent Certification – Formal qualification in Production and Inventory Management to support best-practice scheduling.

  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification – Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Strong Analytical Thinking – Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed scheduling decisions.

  • Excellent Communication Skills – Clear coordination across departments to ensure alignment and resolve issues proactively.

  • Effective Prioritisation and Organisation – Skilled in managing multiple priorities to balance production schedules and resource demands.
