Mental Health Support Worker – Wyndam Vale

Accessible Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in supporting a participant located in Wyndam Vale.

The participant identifies with Aboriginal heritage and requires tailored, culturally safe and person-centred support. They present with a complex range of diagnoses including:

  • Dissociative Identity Disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2)
  • ADHD
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder
  • Sleep-Wake Disorder

About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing consistent, therapeutic, and respectful support that empowers the participant to live safely and meaningfully within their community. The role requires an individual with patience, cultural awareness, and a trauma-informed approach to care.

You will work closely with the participant, their care team, and support network to deliver assistance that promotes independence, stability, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support tailored to the participant's mental health and disability needs.
  • Implement strategies that promote emotional regulation, structure, and safety.
  • Encourage community participation and skill-building.
  • Work within a trauma-informed and culturally safe framework.
  • Collaborate with family, allied health, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and uphold NDIS compliance requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV (or higher) in Mental Health, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health, disability, or community services.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Full driver's licence and own reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex mental health conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
