Our experienced and passionate team works across Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and community programs to support participants with diverse and often complex needs. We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in Southern Suburbs of Adelaide such as Morphett Vale and Northern Adelaide, including areas such as Salisbury, Elizabeth, Munno Para, Parafield Gardens, and surrounding suburbs.

About the Role- Northern and Southern Suburbs

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing person-centred support to individuals living with mental health conditions, ensuring their safety, dignity, and wellbeing while promoting independence and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support tailored to the individual's needs, goals, and care plans.
  • Assist participants with community engagement, daily living activities, and social inclusion.
  • Manage challenging behaviours using de-escalation strategies and therapeutic communication.
  • Document progress notes, incident reports, and support records in compliance with policies.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams, guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Uphold professional boundaries and safeguard participant rights at all times.
Essential Requirements
  • Certificate III or IV in Mental Health, Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
  • MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) Training – Mandatory
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions, complex behaviours, or psychosocial disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practice.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Current National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.

  • Manual Handling and Medication Administration training
  • Experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is desirable
  • Experience with using Brevity App.
  • Additional training (PEG, bowel care, diabetes support) is highly regarded
  • Competency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and electronic record systems
Desirable
  • Previous experience in NDIS or community mental health settings.
  • Knowledge of NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Framework.
