Breast Cancer Network Australia
(BCNA) is Australia's leading breast cancer consumer organisation. They work tirelessly to ensure that all Australian's who are affected by breast cancer receive the very best care, treatment and support.
Since their inception in 1998, they have built a strong and resilient network of over 250,000 individuals who have received their support. Alongside this network, BCNA work with the broader cohort of health professionals, government, healthcare providers and partners to influence and create a stronger healthcare system

As
PR & Communications Manager
, you'll be at the heart of BCNA's public voice - leading PR, media, and storytelling strategy to build awareness, deepen connection, and inspire action. Reporting to the Director - Brand, Income and Engagement, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing BCNA's mission, reach and influence.
As the architect of BCNA's public-facing communications, you'll provide trusted counsel to the CEO, Board and Executive Team while driving proactive PR campaigns and earned media. You'll lead on issues and crisis communications, strengthen relationships with high-profile supporters, ambassadors and influencers, and stay plugged into the national conversation to ensure BCNA's voice is timely, relevant and influential.
You'll also oversee the development of compelling, values-led content, from press releases and op-eds to campaign narratives and executive speeches, ensuring BCNA's voice remains consistent, human, and purpose-driven across every channel.
About YOU
You're a PR leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and storytelling. You bring:
- 8-10 years' experience in PR, media or strategic communications roles
- A strong track record of leading PR campaigns and reputational management in complex environments
- Experience providing strategic counsel at executive and/or Board level
- Excellent writing and editing skills, able to simplify complex issues and craft compelling stories under pressure
- Well-developed issues management and crisis communication experience
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Established media contacts (highly desirable) with a track record of securing meaningful coverage across traditional and digital platforms
- Strategic and proactive mindset, with a strong sense of initiative
- Collaborative, adaptable and confident under pressure
- Tertiary qualification/s in communications, journalism, PR or related field. Not-profit or health sector experience is an advantage
