About the Opportunity
Supporting the Program Director SUBSAFE, the SUBSAFE Program Improvement Manager is responsible for driving enhanced performance of the ASC SUBSAFE Program and uplift of capability to support existing and future programs.
With operational efficiency and compliance focus, this role will deliver continuous improvement projects, develop and deliver personnel training programs for ASC and the SUBSAFE Supply Chain. This is to ensure that all stakeholders are suitably qualified and experienced and that our Systems, Tools and Process are suitable and operational for all SUBSAFE related work scope.
Full time permanent position-based form either Henderson, WA or Osborne, SA.
Responsibilities
- Develop the SUBSAFE Improvement Program across Technical Systems and Standards Management, Compliance, Process and Change Management
- Identify potential risks to SUSBAFE Program Compliance and develop mitigation strategies for these, including developing programs and initiatives which address concerns proactively
- Manage and report on SUBSAFE Program performance ensuring compliance and performance findings are addressed, resources are optimized, and continuous improvement is embedded
- Lead and manage projects aimed at improving submarine operations, including process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement while maintaining a compliance focus
- Provide training and support to staff on new processes and technologies as it they relate to the SUBSAFE program
- Identify and integrate new technologies and innovative solutions to enhance SUBSAFE program application and compliance
About you
- Degree or equivalent experience in an applicable field (engineering, safety, business)
- Significant experience in a compliance / governance management
- Track record of demonstrated capabilities in managing quality, certification, safety or environmental management systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of systems or equipment onboard ships and/or submarines.
- Knowledge of SUBSAFE and Defence Seaworthiness requirements (or equivalents).
- Experience in effective delivery of continuous improvement events, implementation of management systems, training programs in a complex environment like submarines or shipbuilding operations / maintenance.
Experienced in the effective leadership and management of a team of people.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
