The Role
As the Collins Submarine Program (CSMP) Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead a team across multiple sites to maintain the certified ISO 9001 Quality management system and assurance activities within the Submarine Enterprise. This role is the focal point for complex quality assurance audits, including compliance with seaworthiness regulations.

You will be responsible to plan, lead and manage quality assurance, governance, auditing and corporate reporting activities and identify improvements for quality assurance processes and practices. You will be responsible to actively manage key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholder's expectations to achieve strategic outcomes within an integrated workforce.

As part of the Collins Submarine Engineering group you will understand and ensure compliance with regulations, licenses and standards of practices, provide reporting of compliance and initiate remedial actions.

The Collins Submarine Program within the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia's Collins Class Submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation. You will have access to generous and attractive working conditions as an Australian Public Servant in Defence. Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • The qualifications, knowledge and experience to develop, implement and refine a certified Quality management framework;
  • Ability to manage and lead a team while providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance and delegating responsibilities;
  • Ability to manage a complex assurance program and review performance measurement and continuous improvement;
  • Evaluate, monitor and report on quality assurance operations and ensure compliance with relevant requirements;
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on quality assurance activities to achieve strategic outcomes;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders to achieve business outcomes;
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to guide and develop people.
