Position Information

Manning Gardens Public School is a diverse and inclusive NSW public school with a departmental preschool, mainstream K-6 department and special education classes (early intervention to Year 6) all on the one site. We have a combined enrolment of 241 students, including 62% Aboriginal students. The school is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning with a strong focus on Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), student wellbeing and community partnerships. Manning Gardens Public School has a dedicated and collaborative staff, working in partnership with parents, carers and the wider community to ensure every student is known, valued and cared for. The successful candidate will have a teaching ability and/or willingness to work across departments within our school: Early Childhood, Mainstream and Special Education.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6), a willingness to teach special education classes (K-6) with demonstrated experience and expertise in supporting students who present with behaviour difficulties in all K-6 settings.

Proven ability in delivering exemplary, evidence-based teaching and learning that actively engages all students, maximises achievement, and responds with precision to diverse and complex learner needs, underpinned by highly developed skills in explicit teaching practices and the integration of high-impact instructional strategies that drive sustained improvement in student learning outcomes across key curriculum areas.

Demonstrated ability to implement, model and lead Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) systems with proven success in building safe, respectful and inclusive learning environments in challenging school contexts as well as highly developed behaviour management and student engagement skills.

Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with parents and carers to build strong relationships that enhance student learning, wellbeing and attendance, including the consistent follow-up of student absences as well as demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal education, with proven capacity to implement and monitor Personalised Learning Pathways (PLPs) in partnership with students, families and communities.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

This is an above centrally identified permanent position established through school funds. The successful candidate's continued appointment to this position will be subject to the continuity of funding, the ongoing requirement of the position and the educational needs of the school.

Should the funding or the requirement for the position cease, the teacher will receive nominated transfer status; please refer to the Staffing Procedure for the Teaching Service in NSW Public Schools for additional information.
