Position Information

Tallawong Public School is a dynamic and vibrant new school that commenced operations in 2024, catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Currently located on the grounds of Riverstone Public School, the school is scheduled to relocate to purpose-built facilities at 24 Macquarie Road, Rouse Hill, in Term 2, 2026. With an enrolment of 125 students and projected rapid growth during the transition to the permanent site, this marks an exciting and significant period for the entire school community.

Approximately 56% of students identify as English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) learners, and 1.6% identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. The school is committed to providing inclusive and culturally responsive educational programs. Restorative practice underpins the school's approach, fostering a positive and supportive environment for both students and staff.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach K-6, with exceptional curriculum knowledge and effective classroom practice, applying the teaching and learning cycle to enhance learning for diverse student needs.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team, showing flexibility, a willingness to learn and commitment to foster a positive school culture.

Proven ability to engage and build positive, respectful relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community, fostering a strong sense of togetherness and partnership.

Commitment to fostering a positive and safe learning environment that promotes student wellbeing using a restorative framework, with a strong commitment to whole-school approaches and systems.

Demonstrated passion and willingness to establish quality extracurricular programs that encourage student interest and participation.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
