Who are Emotive?
Emotive is a creative agency that exists to create ideas that change how people feel, because nothing influences behaviour and drives decision-making for our brand partners, quite like the power of emotion.

The role & experience
Our Fame-Thinking approach ensures that specialist insight is added at every stage of our process. For the Head of Social & Content, this requires being strategic and creative in equal measure. Firstly, working upstream alongside the lead brand/creative strategist to bring social, content and cultural insights into strategic responses and creative briefs. Then, working independently to develop bespoke social and content strategies from brand or creative strategies. And finally, working with the creative teams to originate, enhance and extend ideas.
The Head of Social & Content are methodical and confident in their views, and can endear the trust of those around them, particularly clients. Having highly proficient presenting and interpersonal skills are a must to build rapport, grow relationships and ultimately help sell-in ideas.
The Head of Social & Content is also culturally curious with an informed worldview and passion for advertising, as well as a passion for creativity outside of the world of advertising. They love the impact and potential of ideas in all shapes and sizes; traditional ads, social content, earned attention, reactive tactics, proactive plans and everything in between and yet to be thought of
Specifically, they are someone who:
- Has extensive experience in developing coherent and inspirational social and content strategies
- Is practiced in influencer identification, outreach and management
- Is practiced across a variety of social analysis and reporting tools (esp. Meltwater)
- Gets stuck into the creative process and helps originate ideas as much as build on them
- Has extensive knowledge of best in class social and content creativity/campaigns
- Has an immersive understanding of popular culture and social/cultural trends
- Can practically embed and use AI across their ways of working
Knowledge & skills
As an innovative and experienced expert in their area, the Head of Social & Content will:
- Have 8+ years of experience in a social strategy/creative function
- Interpret brand/creative strategies into a clear 'role for social and/or content'
- Ideate content pillars based on brand challenges/opportunities
- Recommend the right channels, platforms and content partners (inc. formats and topics)
- Develop and implement content planning frameworks (e.g. Hero, Hub, Hygiene)
- Implement and recommend a methodology for social and content measurement/effectiveness
- Have a thorough understanding of channels, touchpoints and the communications landscape, in order to shape how and where creative ideas can best show up and connect with audiences
- Identify and recommend influencer talent with a clear rationale back to the idea/strategy
- Contact and then manage influencer talent post project engagement
- Work closely with our CEO and COO on influencer contract negotiation
- Work closely with creative teams to originate, enhance and extend ideas
- Continually and consistently inspire and inform the agency with the latest best in class social and content campaigns, along with requisite learnings for us all
- Have paid social planning knowledge and experience
- Be a genuine team player and leave any ego at the door to work collaboratively
- Have tertiary marketing/advertising qualifications (preferable)
- Management experience and ability to resource and direct more junior team members
Reporting lines
Reports to Executive Strategy Partner Sebastian Revell, with a dotted line into CCO Gavin McLeod and Head of Earned Creative Jessica Cluff.
