About The Role:

The George Centre is seeking a casual General Services Officer to join their housekeeping department. You will work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment that strives to deliver outstanding healthcare to our patients.

As a General Services Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • To undertake cleaning according to policies, procedures and checklists provided
  • Areas include but not limited to patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, foyers, waiting areas, pantry, kitchen, floors, blinds, making of beds, emptying bins
  • Demonstrate correct protocol relating to infection control
  • Demonstrate environmental safety by using and handling chemicals and equipment safely and according to policies and procedures
  • Maintaining equipment and material safety data sheets for all solutions, chemicals used within department

Requirements:

  • Worked in a team, busy and high workload environment

  • Knowledge and understanding in health and safety and safe systems of work

  • Promote excellence in customer service & treat all people at the hospital as guests

  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills

  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts - early/late shifts & weekend work.

  • Be well presented with a high standard of personal hygiene

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be mature and be team orientated
  • Availability to work at short notice may be required
