About the role
Waminda Services Limited is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Support Worker to join our team in Dalby, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our clients, ensuring they receive the best possible services to enhance their independence, health and wellbeing.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinating and supervising a team of support workers to deliver high-quality care to clients
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Assisting clients with accessing their community safley
- Providing fun activities in programs that are engaging and teach clients' daily skills
- Developing and implementing individualised support plans to meet the specific needs of each client
- Monitoring the health and well-being of clients and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate authorities
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies
- Providing training and mentorship to support workers to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care
What we're looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a health or social care discipline, such as aged care, disability support, or community services
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role within the aged care or disability support industry
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of support workers, including supervision, training, and performance management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and their families
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Proficient in the use of relevant technologies and IT systems to support client care and record-keeping
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, and a valid driver's licence
- Provisional driver's licence or higher required for community access duties
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency status required
- Current police check and Working with Vulnerable People check required
