About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with participants, their families, and allied health professionals to promote independence, inclusion, and overall wellbeing while implementing behaviour support strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide person-centred support to participants in their daily activities, community engagement, and skill development.
- Implement behaviour support
- Monitor and document behavioural incidents, progress, and outcomes in line with organisational policies and NDIS requirements.
- Use de-escalation techniques and proactive approaches to minimise risk and ensure participant and staff safety.
- Encourage independence and skill-building while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support participants to achieve their individual goals and aspirations.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding practices, duty of care, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Previous experience working with individuals with behaviours of concern (essential).
- Knowledge and application of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and use de-escalation strategies effectively
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
- Empathetic, patient, and respectful.
- Resilient with the ability to manage challenging situations.
- Committed to empowering individuals and promoting independence.
