Summary:

The Systems Engineer position will work closely with Engineering to provide engineering services within the Program. This role will contribute to the planning and coordination of IF Section activities, working across the Future Force and R&D components within the team construct. The Systems Engineer will support and contribute to a number of activities within Army Headquarters, such as providing direct support to the Domestic Operations interim solution minors project, analysing and capturing requirements from R&D activity outcomes, and collaborating with various teams across the Program to inform future Integrated Force activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine Integrated Force R&D activity analysis process and assessment criteria, to enable the prioritisation of activities to investigate and progress to Program Management Board.
  • .Conduct analysis on activity findings and outcomes to inform future activities, capture future needs and identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-program engineering teams to identify and capture gaps and opportunities that will feed into R&D activities and inform the future phase.
  • Support the Integrated Force team through traditional project activities such as commercial tendering, risk reduction and tender evaluation.
  • Contribute to Integrated Force artefacts such as Program Strategy, R&D Strategy, and Combat Capability Review (CCR) documents.
  • Support industry activities including Deep Dives, Focus Groups, and Market Scan analysis.
  • Provide direct support such as reviewing documentation (including Project Management Plan (PMP), Project Framework, Operational Concept Documents (OCD), POC, System Specification, High Level Design, etc).
  • Support reviews of One Defence Capability System (ODCS) artefacts, Program/Project documentation (including the OCD, TEMP, Function and Performance Specification (FPS), Joint Capability Needs Statement (JCNS), Strategy and Integrated Project Management Plan (IPMP)) required to achieve Defence committee endorsements.
  • Support reviews of strategic documentation such as the Land Domain Concept, The Army Plan, and Land OCD.
  • Support multinational engagement activities, and contribute to the development of technical and procedural standards.

Qualifications:

  • NV1 security clearance or higher.
  • Systems Engineering Management of the Integrated Force activities, within the capability framework and governance structures.
  • Providing support to technology environmental scans, and engagement with industry.
  • Stakeholder Engagement that spans engineering management, design authorities, integration authorities, integrated logistic support.
  • Contribute to traditional project acquisition activities that include: Risk Management, FIC Management, Integrated Logistic Support planning, Cost Estimation and Issues Resolution.
  • Management and mentoring of Systems Engineers, and demonstrating collaborative behaviours with other project staff.
