Location: Office location will be determined dependent on the right applicant, as we have offices based in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane

Overview of role

​The Implementation & Activation Manager is a critical role, over-seeing activation of client campaigns to ensuring best-in-class delivery for clients consistently, whilst also shaping effective, efficient, creative, and future facing implementation plans and media schedules for clients, to deliver business growth. As a Manager you are responsible for supervising elements of team workload to ensure client demands are met, and ensuring a high level of effective collaboration between team members and key stakeholders. Working very closely with your manager, you will produce best-in-class solutions, offer unparalleled service and deliver against targets. ​

Overview of Implementation & Activation

​The Implementation & Activation team is responsible for delivering best-in-class implementation planning and activation for clients.

The scope of the Implementation & Activation team covers the Implementation Planning and Activation of all media channels and touchpoints, with a focus on delivering connected, audience-first client outputs. Within the team, we have some team members who work across all channels and both implementation planning & activation, and others who specialise and work across a more focused scope of work, (for example, Performance specialists who work across Social & Search).

Your Responsibilities as Manager

Clients

  • Help build on the agency's reputation for outstanding client service.
  • Clear understanding of the in-scope services of your clients and the process for completing work above and beyond.
  • Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with clients at an intermediate level, as it relates to implementation planning & activation.
  • Proactively recommend tactics and opportunities that resolve client challenges and objectives.

Product

  • Bring innovation and creativity to the table, leveraging insights from across the market
  • Engage with internal GroupM teams to ensure you have an understanding about their offerings and relevance to our clients.
  • Confident in your knowledge of media planning principles (e.g., scheduling, flighting, recency, effective reach theories, seasonality, market prioritisation, roles of all communication channels) and strong ability to utilise proprietary and industry tools to enhance and support planned recommendation.
  • Ownership of the media plan, including reconciliation, and the update of plan changes, with detailed updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Able to construct and present robust Implementation plans, that are grounded in strategic priorities.
  • Oversee the construct and presentation of insightful and progressive post analysis reports
  • Responsible for ensuring all financial and compliance processes are followed with 100% accuracy, including bookings and loadings.
  • Seek to find, communicate, and implement improvements in all aspects of the role.
  • When required, a strict adherence to activation commitments that have client contract association

People

  • Provide clear guidance and instruction when teaching & helping others.
  • Contribute to great teamwork with a supportive and positive attitude.
  • Oversee workflow of direct reports, swiftly escalating issues as they arise.
  • Motivate and empower direct reports to achieve individual, team and org goals.
  • Conduct fortnightly 1:1s, annual Career Conversations and Performance Reviews with direct reports.
  • Liaise with the People Team to resolve any team disputes to ensure a safe and productive team environment.
  • Continuously champion company values to build strong and trusted connections, solution-oriented perspectives and demonstrate that you genuinely care for collective team success

Growth & Marketing

  • Collaborate closely with your manager to identify, collate and showcase examples of great work from within the team, both internally and externally.
  • Be a positive face of the agency at industry events, either related to clients' category or our media partners..
