Your new role

Multiple opportunities are available for APS 5 Contract Administrative Officer and APS 6 Contract Managers. In both roles, you will:

  • Manage low to medium risk contracts from documentation through to variation and close-out.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and agency policies
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and coordinate reporting activities
  • Liaise sensitively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to keep processes running smoothly

As an APS 6, you will additionally:

  • Lead contract performance monitoring and risk mitigation strategies
  • Mentor APS 5 staff and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Draft and interpret procurement policies, RFQs, tender documents, and contract plans

What you'll need to succeed

  • Valid WWVP card
  • Prior APS experience in contract administration, procurement support, or a related role
  • Proven proficiency with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, procurement systems, and record-keeping
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound analytical skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a sensitive approach to stakeholder engagement
  • For APS 6: demonstrated leadership, risk analysis, and policy-interpretation capabilities
