Payroll Specialist – SAP Payroll | Permanent | Hybrid (3 Days Office / 2 WFH)

The Talent Initiative is seeking an experienced

Payroll Specialist
with deep SAP Payroll expertise to take ownership of payroll operations and drive end-to-end testing for a major organisation. If you know Australian payroll inside out, can run payroll cycles, and are ready to ensure flawless SAP payroll delivery through rigorous testing, this is your next move.

About the Role:

You'll play a dual role—running SAP payroll for Australian (and/or NZ) employee groups and leading user acceptance testing (UAT), script writing, and parallel runs for payroll projects. Your hands-on payroll experience will ensure every pay run is accurate, compliant, and ready for business.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and execute SAP payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all legislative requirements
  • Lead payroll testing activities—UAT, regression, parallel pay runs, and defect resolution
  • Develop and execute test scripts for payroll processes and system changes
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and finance teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless payroll delivery
  • Provide user support and training for payroll processes and system enhancements
  • Document results, issues, and process improvements to drive operational excellence

What You Bring:

  • Strong, hands-on experience running SAP payroll for Australian and/or NZ organisations
  • In-depth understanding of payroll compliance, PAYG, superannuation, and Fair Work regulations
  • Experience with payroll testing, UAT, parallel runs, and script writing (formal QA experience a bonus, but not essential)
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work 3 days in-office and 2 days WFH (not negotiable)
  • Proactive, detail-focused, and collaborative approach
