Student Support Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to join our Engagement team.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with students, families and staff to enhance student well-being and academic outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include providing individual and group support, implementing well-being programs, behaviour support and acting as a liaison between the school and external support services.

About the Role
As a Student Support Officer, you will play a vital role in enhancing student well-being and academic outcomes through collaboration with students, families, and staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and sustaining positive relationships with students, families, and community members to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Monitoring student behaviour and well-being to identify issues and organise intervention strategies.
- Leading initiatives to foster a positive and supportive school environment.
- Liaising with families and conducting home visits to encourage school attendance and motivate students.
- Acting as an independent mediator to enhance communication between the school, students, families, and the community.
This role would suit someone passionate about student well-being, with a commitment to fostering positive relationships and creating a supportive school environment.
About You

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing well-being or behaviour support programs.
- Ability to innovate and manage data systems to inform intervention strategies.
- Understanding of educational, social, emotional, or behavioural challenges faced by students.
- Team-oriented approach with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
