St Hilda’s School is owned by the Diocese of Brisbane and the School Council is appointed by the Archbishop in Council. The major functions of the School Council are the appointment of the School Principal, the fixing of the annual budget and the fixing of school policy. The Principal, in the role of Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the School. All staff are responsible for carrying out their duties.

ICT Support Officer

Full Time, Term Time Plus - 40 weeks per year

Monday to Friday

7.30am to 3.30pm or 8.00am-4.00pm

St Hilda’s School seeks to appoint an ICT Support Officer whose primary role is to:
Provide first and second-level help desk support to both staff and students in all matters relating to ICT Hardware and Software.
Provide a welcoming customer service experience to students and staff who seek assistance from the ICT Service Desk.
Provide a high level of customer service
Deploy, configure, upgrade and support devices including but not limited to desktops, laptops, iPads and peripherals
Aid School staff for events (includes occasional work outside regular hours)

Selection Criteria

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Excellent communication and people skills
To be proactive and respond in a timely manner to all requests
Knowledge in software deployment (JAMF, SCCM desirable)
Knowledge of TASS, BlackBoard desirable
Knowledge of AV equipment (sound + lighting desks, wireless mics)
Support the maintenance of the asset register and documentation on all infrastructure, hardware and software
Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive
Advanced knowledge of Apple and Windows Operating Systems
Experience in a BYOD environment
Routinely checking equipment, cabling, connections, and overall setup
Assist events outside normal hours (e.g, evenings or weekends) as required
Occasional school holiday work
May undertake some duties associated with other streams at this level
Additional duties and administration support as determined by the ICT Coordinator

Qualifications and Requirements

Current working with children (Paid Blue Card) to commence
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent
At least three years of hands-on experience in the ICT industry in level 1 or level 2 support-based roles
Demonstrated experience supporting Windows and Apple environments
Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Enthusiasm, proactiveness and high-level communication skills
Experience within a school environment is preferred
