As a Home Support Worker, you'll provide essential help around the home for our clients, supporting their independence, right to chose and wellbeing through practical day-to-day assistance.
This is a hands-on role where you'll visit clients in their homes to provide domestic support - no personal or clinical care required.
You'll also make an impact by:
- Helping clients maintain a clean and safe home environment (e.g. vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and general tidying)
- Preparing simple home-cooked meals and assisting with grocery shopping
- Providing transport to local appointments or community activities
- Offering friendly conversation and companionship during your visits
- Representing Helping Hand positively in the community with professionalism and care
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
- Current driver licence
- A registered, well-maintained, reliable and insured vehicle
- Good communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and accurately
- Ability to operate smartphones and apps (such as Microsoft Outlook)
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or be willing to obtain one.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:
- Previous experience in providing domestic services in a community setting.
- Knowledge of local area including shopping centers, services within the local community
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions, take initiative and work independently.
