Adela Support is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Female Support Worker (client's preference) to join our dynamic team, with a casual position that has the potential to transition into a permanent part-time role. As part of a team that is committed to providing exceptional services to individuals with disabilities in the community, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Assist participants in implementing their plans to achieve personal goals and improve outcomes.
  • Personal Care: Provide support with activities of daily living, including household tasks, personal care (showering, dressing, feeding), and healthcare needs.
  • Life Skills Coaching: Encourage the development of personal skills through hobbies, interests, and life skills training (e.g., shopping, using public transport, managing finances).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Emotional Support: Offer emotional support to participants and their families, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Compassion: A caring and empathetic approach to participant care.
  • Effective Communication: Skilled in active listening and clear, direct communication, ensuring effective service delivery and understanding diverse perspectives.
  • Team Collaboration: Able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver optimal participant support and meet evolving needs.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of developing and implementing practical solutions to complex concerns and challenges faced by participants.
  • Action-Oriented: Ability to translate ideas into actionable plans, ensuring the successful implementation of strategies.
  • Self-Reflection and Development: Committed to personal growth, actively seeking feedback, and continually improving professional skills.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum: Certificate III or IV in Disability or Age Care (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Experience: Previous experience in the disability or aged care sector is preferred, or the intention to learn and gain on-the-job experience.
  • Clearances: Current Working with Children Clearance and Police Check/Criminal History Check.
  • Drivers licence: Current drivers licence with reliable car is a must for this role
