THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Developer with a strong background in Visual FoxPro and a working knowledge of modern web technologies such as React and . The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our legacy systems while supporting the transition to modern platforms.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and enhance existing applications developed in Visual FoxPro (Essential)
- Design and develop web applications using (frontend) and (backend).
- Experience in migrating legacy systems to modern stacks.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
- Optimise and manage relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to modernising legacy systems.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across legacy and modern stacks.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.
KEY QUALITIES
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Proven expertise in Visual FoxPro (VFP). This is a requirement of the role.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, with solid experience in and
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure).
