Permanent Full Time position

Based in Armadale with flexible work options

Build on some solid foundations

If you're someone who thrives on precision, leads with care and takes pride in enabling others to grow  — this could be your next chapter.

About Us

In the City of Armadale, our vision is clear: to create a workplace where our culture is positive, our people are inspired, and our teams perform at their best. We are committed to supporting our staff to grow, learn, and develop, ensuring that everyone can achieve their full potential.

About the Role

You'll lead a small, high-performing payroll team and take ownership of our end-to-end payroll function — ensuring accuracy, compliance and trust across every pay cycle.

Your work will go far beyond processing transactions. You'll be the subject matter expert guiding the City's payroll systems, partnering with HR and Finance teams to optimise processes, implement improvements, and deliver insights through meaningful workforce reporting.

It's a role that combines leadership, system know-how, and the satisfaction of delivering an essential service that every employee relies on.

About You

You're someone who takes pride in getting the details right — and in helping others do the same.

You bring both technical depth and a human touch, balancing accuracy with collaboration.

  • You have significant experience leading or delivering payroll for a large workforce (800+ employees).
  • You're confident in navigating payroll legislation, superannuation, taxation and audits.
  • You enjoy improving systems, data integrity and workflows — and know your way around payroll systems.
  • You're a people-first leader who mentors others, builds strong relationships, and brings calm confidence to the team.
