About the role

Heritage Hotel is seeking an experienced Chef to join our talented kitchen team at our Rockhampton location. As a full-time Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals that showcase our commitment to exceptional dining experiences. In this role, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and provide outstanding customer service.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes with a focus on freshness and quality
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop and refine menu items
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering of ingredients
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff
  • Ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and in compliance with all relevant regulations

What we're looking for

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef in a similar fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills to handle the demands of a busy kitchen
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the Head Chef
  • Passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create delicious meals
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
  • Food safety and hygiene certification
