About the role

As the Estimating Manager at Mansour Paving Australia, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's growth and success. This full-time position is based in Rockdale, NSW and is responsible for overseeing the estimating process across all construction projects. You will work closely with the senior management team to ensure accurate and competitive bids that align with the company's strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage and coordinate the estimating team to deliver timely and accurate cost estimates for new projects
  2. Analyse project requirements, specifications, and drawings to identify all relevant cost factors
  3. Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  4. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to review and refine estimates
  5. Continuously seek ways to improve the estimating process and increase the accuracy of bids
  6. Provide training and mentorship to the estimating team to enhance their skills and knowledge
  7. Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure estimates are compliant and competitive

What we're looking for

  1. Substantial experience (8+ years) in a construction estimating role, preferably within the civil or infrastructure sectors
  2. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment costs
  3. Proficient in using estimating software and spreadsheet applications
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
  5. Effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  6. Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive bids that have led to successful project wins
  7. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Construction Management or Engineering, is highly desirable
