About Us
Founded in 1998 on the Far North Coast of NSW, we started as a niche Lemon Myrtle producer and have grown to become the world's largest producer of Lemon Myrtle. Over the years, we've diversified across product categories and geographies, serving customers locally, interstate, and overseas. The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Casual Factory Processor to join our team at The Channon. This role supports both farming and operational activities, including processing leaf into dried spices, oils, and hydrosols, monitoring production data, and packing finished product.
You'll need practical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to help us deliver high-quality products efficiently. This is a casual role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical, team-based work and is happy to get involved in a variety of operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor processing machinery, including dryers and stills
- Record processing outcomes for quality and operational standards
- Maintain food safety and quality control practices
- Operate a forklift safely (ticket desirable)
- Keep operational areas clean and maintained
- Weigh, pack, and seal finished products
- Prepare orders for shipment, including palletising and labelling
- Assist with farm-related tasks such as harvesting and weeding
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
Key Skills & Attributes
- Interest in practical, hands-on work
- Experience with machinery, equipment, and forklifts
- Able to perform manual, sometimes heavy work
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions for extended hours
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail with good problem-solving ability
- Forklift ticket desirable
