The Company

Our client is an instantly recognised global retail brand. With a large market share, they continue to perform extremely well, with strong growth placing increasing demands on the finance function.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager you will be an integral member of a small, but high performing finance team. You will support the finance function across Australia and New Zealand in accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, stocktakes, rental properties and surveys submitted to the government agencies. Key tasks will include, but will not be restricted too:

  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support the Accounts Payable function, including foreign currency transactions.
  • Carry out collection activities to agreed targets across all payment terms and ensuring weekly follow up of invoices
  • Conduct account reviews for A/R balances to provide commercial teams with information about debt position, payment history and credit worthiness
  • Send monthly sales figures to landlords for retail stores
  • Set up banking and merchant facilities for new retail stores
  • Assist with yearly external audit.
  • Involved in stocktake for all retail stores
  • Assist with audit process
  • Adhoc projects as directed by the Finance Manager.

The Candidate

With a relevant Business / Commerce degree, You may be currently working as an Assistant Accountant, ideally within retail or a fast paced business in a similar sector. You will have a strong working knowledge of a large ERP system such as SAP. You will be pro-active, show great initiative and be capable of working in a fast paced dynamic environment. Strong Excel skills, as well as the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders will be vital for success in this role.
