Role summary:
We are seeking a capable, hands on leader to guide the business through its next decade of steady improvement and growth. This is a rare opportunity for someone who values operational excellence and wants to make a lasting impact on a growing community.
As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for day to day operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, service, and reliability. You will lead and develop a dedicated team, strengthen operational systems, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. With the region entering a period of strong growth, you will play a key role in stewarding a well established company into its next chapter - maintaining stability while delivering sustainable expansion.
Key responsibilities:
- Operational oversight: Lead daily operations across school runs, charters, and fleet management, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.
- Team leadership: Manage and support drivers, workshop staff, and administrators. Build capability, foster accountability, and maintain a positive and safe workplace culture.
- Optimise support functions: Modernise quoting, finance, and administration by embedding offshore support and automated systems, ensuring disciplined and efficient workflows under GM oversight.
- Compliance and safety: Ensure the company meets all passenger transport, workplace health and safety, and vehicle maintenance standards.
- Customer and stakeholder relationships: Maintain strong partnerships with schools, government bodies, suppliers, and the wider community.
- Sustainable growth: Support the business in achieving steady, long-term revenue growth by strengthening existing contracts, expanding charter activity, and developing opportunities in line with demand.
