Wood is recruiting a Senior Construction Engineer (Civil / Structural) to join our Operations business for a site-based role supporting one of our long-term client partners within an established WA brownfields Engineering Service Contract.
This opportunity is available on a FIFO (Fly In / Fly Out) contractor basis with initial duration of 12 months, even time 3:3 rotation, working 6 days/ week on 12-hour days. Departure point is from Perth to northern WA remote site location. Start July 2025.

Reporting to the Site Lead your key focus will be acting as an interface with the Civil Contractor providing onsite support on all technical issues and to working through to resolution. You will also interface with Perth based Engineering & Project Management teams, where additional technical support is required.
As a Senior Construction Engineer, you will thrive on the challenge of delivering outstanding results in complex environments. You will be ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes for critical infrastructure as part of our client's asset portfolio. Your expertise in civil and structural engineering will support vital upgrades and modifications, upholding the highest safety and environmental standards for brownfields infrastructure associated with Oil & Gas projects and facilities.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Leading construction activities for onshore oil and gas facilities, aligning with project goals, timelines, and budgets.

Managing Requests for Information (RFIs) with precision, ensuring clarity and accuracy to keep projects on track.

Conducting Quality Assurance (QA) checks to ensure construction work meets civil and structural engineering standards and project specifications.

Applying your civil and structural engineering expertise to design and execute brownfields modifications, upgrades, and infrastructure development.

Collaborating with contractors, vendors, and diverse teams to deliver safe, sustainable, and impactful results.

Tracking and reporting construction progress, proactively addressing risks to deliver projects on time.

Upholding operational, safety, and environmental standards that reflect your commitment to excellence.

Expected:
You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.
Suitably qualified in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have 8 years of relevant civil / structural onsite construction experience.
In addition, you will:

Proven ability to manage RFIs and resolve technical queries efficiently in complex construction environments

Have knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of civil / structural engineering, with experience delivering within a challenging and complex multi-discipline environment.

Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.

Have a professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards.

Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset", skilled in the management of risk during construction consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements.

Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal)

Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood
