Project Engineer - Construction Expert

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide field engineering support and monitor quality and progress of construction activities within assigned projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inspect construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes.
  • Review design drawings for constructability.
  • Assist in construction engineering and managing the installation of materials and equipment as assigned.
  • Input data into quantity tracking databases and other computer systems as required.
  • Prepare daily progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports, and keep the project manager informed on progress of assigned tasks.
  • Review project design and engineering documents to ensure their completeness.
  • Manage the revision of construction information as necessary.
  • Provide input to the project engineer's reviews of contractor's technical submittals, including method statements, safe systems of work, permit applications, and change proposals.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental issues associated with the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the construction of infrastructure projects; electrical HV experience is preferred.
  • Customer-side experience in the construction monitoring of various projects is preferred.
  • Good understanding of construction techniques and constructability issues.
  • Good working knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to operate autonomously with minimal technical direction.
