The Enterprise Change Management Office (ECMO) provides support and advice to AEC staff to prepare, adopt and embrace change and transformation, and strives to be the AEC's change management centre of excellence. The ECMO's purpose is to support the AEC to meet its full potential through realising its organisational benefits by focusing on the people side of change. This is achieved by providing the structure and support to build sustainable change management capability and maturity across the agency. The ECMO contributes to a positive work culture that enables increased productivity and the likelihood of project delivery, change success and benefits realisation. It will be expected that this role with embody and positively support the maintenance of this culture. The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking to engage a Change Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting the Enterprise Change Management Office (ECMO)and various teams in the AEC by planning and executing change support and deliverables. You'll act as the conduit between the ECMO and business, working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure fit for purpose materials are developed to support change readiness. You're focus will be to create and support the delivery of tailored change materials that enhance people's ability to apply, respond to, embed, and adapt to changes throughout the agency.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assess the impact of proposed changes and develop plans to mitigate risks and minimise disruptions
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholder at all levels of the organisation
  • Lead training sessions and workshops to educate employees on new technologies and process, and provide ongoing support to ensure change adoption
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management efforts and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide event and operational staff with the support to champion and communicate the anticipated changes.
  • Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice to AEC staff on managing change and overcoming resistance effectively.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in implementing and delivering organisational change by engaging and motivating employees to embrace change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience using the AEC's preferred methodology, Prosci, or other change methodologies
  • Experience with large-scale organisational change efforts impacting multiple teams.
  • A solid understanding of how people go through the change process, with a versatile set of tools and techniques to support them.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team whilst contributing positively to the achievement of AEC objectives.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills across a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise, negotiate, and represent effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple work packages simultaneously whilst understanding dependencies and ensuring progress and quality.

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant qualifications and / or industry certification.
