We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ECT – Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent with ACECQA approval – Full VIT Registration (Level 2 or above) to join our busy 3–5-year-old room of up to 30 children. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic, play-based program that encourages curiosity, exploration, friendships, and intentional learning experiences.

About the role

  • Part-time - 27 hours per week (including planning time)
  • Hours: Monday–Thursday 9am–3pm, Friday 9am–5pm
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: End of April 2026 (potential to become permanent)
  • Pay: Worker Retention Grant approved centre therefore current hourly rate is 10% above Award rate with a further 5% increase in December 2025. Hourly rate negotiable accordingly to level and experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver programming that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards, with a strong commitment to best practice
  • Collaborate with families to extend learning outcomes
  • Lead, mentor and support a team of three educators, including a second kinder teacher and a Cert III educator
  • Foster a stimulating, safe, and welcoming learning environment
  • Engage in continuous personal and professional development
  • Plan and host biannual parent-teacher interviews and an annual information evening for families
  • Use School Readiness Funding strategically to meet curriculum and community need
  • Ensure all activities are well-planned, engaging, and developmentally appropriate

Essential Attributes & Skills

  • Deep understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards
  • Current knowledge and understanding of the Child Safe Standards (CCYP)
  • Extensive experience planning and delivering programs for 3–5-year-olds
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Professional, mature, and reflective approach to teaching
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and presentation

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (No Graduate Diplomas – applications will not be considered)
  • Current VIT Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching)
  • Up-to-date certifications: Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, and First Aid
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
