Early Childhood Teacher

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ECT – Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent with ACECQA approval – Full VIT Registration (Level 2 or above) to join our busy 3–5-year-old room of up to 30 children. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic, play-based program that encourages curiosity, exploration, friendships, and intentional learning experiences.

About the role
- Part-time - 27 hours per week (including planning time)
- Hours: Monday–Thursday 9am–3pm, Friday 9am–5pm
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: End of April 2026 (potential to become permanent)
- Pay: Worker Retention Grant approved centre therefore current hourly rate is 10% above Award rate with a further 5% increase in December 2025. Hourly rate negotiable accordingly to level and experience
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver programming that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards, with a strong commitment to best practice
- Collaborate with families to extend learning outcomes
- Lead, mentor and support a team of three educators, including a second kinder teacher and a Cert III educator
- Foster a stimulating, safe, and welcoming learning environment
- Engage in continuous personal and professional development
- Plan and host biannual parent-teacher interviews and an annual information evening for families
- Use School Readiness Funding strategically to meet curriculum and community need
- Ensure all activities are well-planned, engaging, and developmentally appropriate
Essential Attributes & Skills
- Deep understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards
- Current knowledge and understanding of the Child Safe Standards (CCYP)
- Extensive experience planning and delivering programs for 3–5-year-olds
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Professional, mature, and reflective approach to teaching
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and presentation
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (No Graduate Diplomas – applications will not be considered)
- Current VIT Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching)
- Up-to-date certifications: Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, and First Aid
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
