Company Accountant – Growing Food Manufacturing Business

We're a fast-growing, family-owned food manufacturer looking for a proactive CPA to step into a hands-on accounting role with real impact. Based on-site at our factory, you'll work closely with the Managing Director to support data-driven decisions and help shape the future of the business.

You'll report to our off-site Group Financial Controller, supervise one part-time team member, and play a key role in driving operational excellence as we expand. This role is ideal for an ambitious accountant who wants more than just reporting — someone ready to be a trusted 2IC in finance.

What you'll be doing
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and accrual journals
  • Reconciling GL control accounts
  • Processing supplier payments and payroll
  • Preparing and lodging BAS
  • Managing cashflow and banking
  • Overseeing stocktake, AP/AR, and inventory valuation
  • Coordinating month, quarter, and year-end deliverables for management and the Board
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to support growth
What we're looking for
  • CPA (completed or in progress) with a Bachelor's in Accounting or Commerce
  • Xero experience (essential)
  • Exposure to Fishbowl or other manufacturing systems
  • Strong Excel skills (advanced preferred)
  • Proficient in Word and Outlook
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
  • Experience with Aussie Timesheets payroll system (preferred)
