Help inspire the next generation and shape the future of Netball Victoria.
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Pathways Manager to lead our athlete and technical official development programs, ensuring Victoria continues to produce world-class talent on and off the court.
About Netball Victoria
At Netball Victoria, we're more than a sporting organisation, we're a community dedicated to empowering lives through netball. Guided by our values of empowerment, innovation, and leadership, we aim to inspire and grow the sport while making a lasting impact – from grassroots to elite level.
About the role
Reporting to the GM – High Performance and Pathways, as the Pathways Manager you'll be at the heart of our High-Performance team. You will lead our athlete and technical official (coaches, umpires and bench officials) development programs, creating a world-class pathway that identifies, nurtures and develops talent across Victoria. Spanning competition and pathway integration, high-performance pathways, strategy, policy and planning and stakeholder engagement and communication, you will need to be nimble, organised and able to juggle competing priorities.
With two direct reports, you're a natural leader who is passionate and motivated to see others succeed and you have proven ability to thrive in a high-performance, fast paced sporting environment.
Due to the nature of the role, weekend and out of hours will be required.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Leading the design and delivery of Netball Victoria's pathways programs for athletes and technical officials (coaches, umpires and bench officials).
- Monitoring performance, participation, and progression through the pathway to achieve targets and metrics
- Overseeing strategic and operational plans to achieve Victorian netball dominance in line with our High-Performance Plan.
- Collaborating with coaches, staff and partners to align state and national programs.
- Embedding best practice frameworks for talent identification, development and progression.
- Building strong alignment between Netball Victoria, Netball Australia and the Victorian Institute of Sport.
- Driving a high-performance culture while supporting the wellbeing and development of athletes, officials and staff.
- Promoting a collaborative high-performance culture aligned with Netball Victoria values.
- Leading effective communication with athletes, technical officials, staff, affiliates, and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and consistency
- Mentoring and empowering direct reports, building capability and leadership across the Pathways team.
What you will bring:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in sports management, business administration, coaching or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a leadership role in athlete or technical official development, high-performance programs, pathways management or competition delivery within the sporting industry.
- Experience developing and implementing talent identification, athlete development, and pathways/high-performance programs.
- Knowledge of governance, compliance, and child safety or welfare requirements relevant to athlete development programs will be highly regarded.
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Valid Driver's License.
Desirable
- Experience in the sport or not-for-profit sector, preferably within a member-based organisation, with both volunteer community and elite components
- Experience in designing and delivering training or capacity-building programs for athletes, coaches, or officials.
- Familiarity with performance frameworks and selection policies.
What we offer:
- Flexibility: Hybrid working arrangements and recognition that our work doesn't always fit a 9-to-5 schedule.
- Exclusive Perks: Free parking onsite, gym access, tickets to Melbourne Vixens home games, and partner discounts.
- Wellbeing Support: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), annual flu vaccines, and a welcoming, inclusive culture.
