Join our dynamic acute cardiorespiratory rehabilitation research team as a Clinical Research Fellow. You'll play a pivotal role in investigating innovative approaches to optimize recovery outcomes for patients following critical illness, cancer, and major surgery. This role offers you the chance to work alongside world-renowned experts, contribute to groundbreaking research, and develop your skills as an independent researcher within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Comprehensive Research: Plan and execute research projects, coordinate clinical assessments and interventions, contribute to data analysis, and produce academic publications.
- Fostering Collaboration: Work collegially with multidisciplinary teams, manage research and clinical relationships, and actively participate in team meetings and departmental activities.
- Developing a Research Profile: Steadily build your academic research profile in acute cardiorespiratory rehabilitation through publications, presentations, and funding applications.
- Upholding University Values: Demonstrate and promote the University's values, including diversity, inclusion, and high standards of ethics and integrity.

You are an experienced clinician with a passion for research, seeking to develop your skills as an independent researcher within an established team.
You may also:
- Possess strong clinical experience in a relevant field, such as physiotherapy or allied health.
- Demonstrate excellent research skills, including data collection, analysis, and academic writing.
- Exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity for self-motivation and minimal supervision.
- Have experience in coordinating research projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Your new team – Department of Physiotherapy
The department of physiotherapy has a strong focus on implementation and health services research across the lifespan, including the use of digital health to develop innovative models of care delivery and improve access to health care. Our research teams include internationally renowned researchers with outstanding competitive research grant success and top tier journal publications across the Melbourne School of Health Sciences research hubs.
We aim to profile physiotherapy through dissemination of research findings to the community and our peers. Strengthening our existing relationships with clinical partners and building new local and international collaborations is a key focus. We have strong and strategic collaborative partnerships with the physiotherapy profession. This is facilitated through our Clinical Schools and relationships with the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Australian Physiotherapy Council and the Australian College of Physiotherapy.
