We're seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Simulation Engineer to join our Defence Business Unit in Sydney. In this role, you'll lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced warfare simulation systems, making a real difference in defence training outcomes. You'll work closely with stakeholders to deliver innovative, reliable, and secure simulation solutions that enhance operational capabilities.

As a Simulation Engineer in the Defence team, you'll make a positive impact by:


•    Leading the design, programming, and implementation of warfare simulation systems with 3D and VR technologies

•    Developing and integrating DIS and HLA interfaces for cross-platform interoperability

•    Architecting and implementing secure, high-performance WAN/LAN networks for simulators

•    Collaborating with stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver tailored solutions

•    Leading projects working with multi-disciplinary internal and external teams

•    Conducting testing, validation, and documentation to ensure robust system performance

To be successful in this role you'll have:


•    Proven experience in software programming for simulation systems, ideally in defence environments

•    Expertise in 3D graphics engines, VR integration, and real-time systems (C++, C#, Python)

•    Strong knowledge of DIS and HLA protocols and interface development

•    Solid background in network engineering, WAN/LAN design, and troubleshooting

•    Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

•    Relevant tertiary qualifications and ability to obtain NV1 Clearance
