About the Role:
The Client Lead is a pivotal client-facing role within T&P and is a leader at the forefront of the creative transformation journey for one of our largest clients, Mars.
This position is a 12-month parental leave cover, commencing in November 2025, based out of our Melbourne campus.
The Client Lead is the key point of contact for strategic projects and communications and includes responsibility to direct and lead the client business, developing and executing plans with consulting, creative and operational partners using all appropriate channels.
In this role, you will create impactful relationships by design and unify all those things across a connective brand and digital experience, including championing WPP Open, to grow existing business within your portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplify a growth mindset: Sets a vision for growth and defines a clear road map to achieving this through an annual client growth plan, with specific and measurable opportunities mapped out, deploying resources intelligently and profitably across geographies and disciplines. Uses a wide-ranging network across the T&P business (& wider WPP opportunities) to identify clear areas of opportunity, introduce new capabilities and convert them into solutions to add value to our client proposition.
- Build high-level stakeholder relationships: Build a relationship as a critical and highly trusted/valued client advisor at the most senior client level (C-Suite), and across relevant markets. Becomes recognised and trusted by senior leadership within each internal stakeholder agency. Drives the client-facing agency's thought-leadership agenda.
- Relentlessly innovative: Continuously reimagine how we partner with our clients to build better futures for their businesses. Proactively seek out new opportunities, new technologies and lateral ideas to solve our clients' biggest business issues.
- Put collaboration at the heart of the solution: Lead with a collaborative mindset by creating partnerships and building trust by demonstrating a commitment to the success of others, building a team, and leading by example.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Proven experience in building strong business and strategic capabilities for clients.
- Understand your client's marketing challenges within a larger business context and be able to engage with them on issues and opportunities outside the current scope of our relationship.
- Intelligently create innovative value propositions and strategies to generate new revenue opportunities and create new product/service offerings. You will create solutions that deliver against a fixed scope of work, but also build our ability to deliver flexible solutions, allowing us to adapt to solve our clients' challenges.
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and be a leader who believes in the power of collaboration and teams. You will attract the best talent by creating a positive and collaborative culture, energising and inspiring team members by communicating a compelling client vision, and actively managing their development.
- Be an exceptional communicator, able to move a crowd as well as produce compelling written proposals and presentations.
- Be passionate about the power of creativity, with the knowledge and authority to identify and nurture the best ideas. You foster teams and client co-creation.
- Be strong and visibly fair-minded and have the credibility and confidence to lead senior colleagues and be able to strike an appropriate balance between having responsibility for finding solutions and maintaining trust/alignment with stakeholders and other colleagues.
- Be highly knowledgeable about the specific industry of your client.
