Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Workforce Analyst in Victoria to work on a CASG MLF project
.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
- Conduct job family and skillset analysis to assess current workforce capability and identify gaps aligned with ETML's strategic objectives
- Support development of a data-informed occupational framework to ensure optimal role alignment across Engineering, Technical, and Materiel Logistics functions
- Assist in building an integrated reporting framework and strategic workforce plan to enable data-driven decision-making and long-term capability planning
- Contribute to the creation of a Coaching and Mentoring Business Case, grounded in evidence-based approaches to enhance performance and workforce development
- Provide business and workforce analyst support, with flexibility to deploy generalist resources if SME capacity is limited, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes
What You'll Bring
- Strong analytical skills in business and workforce analysis, including experience with job family reviews, skillset mapping, and capability gap assessments
- Proficiency in developing and interpreting data-driven reporting frameworks to support strategic workforce planning and decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to long-term workforce strategy development, particularly in aligning capability with organisational objectives across technical and logistics functions
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex workforce insights into practical recommendations
- Experience in designing evidence-based capability interventions, such as coaching and mentoring programs, supported by research into high-performance workforce development
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum
Negative Vetting 1
or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
