I'm currently partnering with a well-established boutique accounting firm that's looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing team. This firm works with a wide range of clients - from individuals and family groups to small-to-medium businesses - providing end-to-end tax and business advisory services.

The practice currently has a small, close-knit team of two but has ambitious plans to triple in size over the next couple of years. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to step into a role with real ownership and autonomy, almost like running your own desk within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

You'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients and handling all aspects of their tax and compliance work. This includes:

  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Preparing BAS, financial statements, and compliance documentation
  • Providing tax planning and advisory support
  • Building strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive service
  • Working directly with the Director to improve processes and contribute to firm growth

About You

We're looking for someone who is proactive, confident, and ready to take ownership of their work. You'll ideally have:

  • CPA/CA qualified
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in public practice (Tax and Business Services)
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation and compliance
  • Excellent communication skills - around half of the firm's clients are 55+, so face-to-face meetings will be common
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workflow
  • A genuine interest in contributing to a firm's long-term growth
