Are you an educational leader with a passion for academic excellence and innovative pedagogy? A faith-based, independent co-educational school on Sydney's leafy North Shore is seeking a Head of Learning and Teaching (7–12) to lead teaching, curriculum, and assessment across the Senior School.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Senior School, the Head of Learning and Teaching (7–12) is accountable for leading high-performance pedagogy, curriculum innovation, and academic monitoring. The role will inspire staff to deliver exceptional student outcomes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will ideally bring expertise in Cultures of Thinking, Project Zero, and/or Thinking Routines alongside a proven track record of leadership in secondary education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead learning and teaching strategy to deliver strong HSC performance outcomes.
- Implement and embed innovative pedagogical frameworks, with a focus on Creating Cultures of Thinking and Making Thinking Visible.
- Mentor and inspire Heads of Learning Areas and teaching staff.
- Analyse data to drive targeted academic interventions and support student success.
- Oversee curriculum development, ensuring alignment with NESA requirements.
- Promote best practice and professional learning across faculties.
About You
- Relevant teaching qualifications (postgraduate study desirable).
- Significant secondary school teaching experience in Australia with proven middle or senior leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in improving academic outcomes, particularly in the HSC.
- Experience leading professional learning and building capacity in teaching teams.
- Commitment to contemporary pedagogy (knowledge of Project Zero/Thinking Routines highly regarded)
- Strong people leadership and a collaborative, innovative mindset.
