About the role
As the Swimming Pool & Spa Technical Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will be responsible for administering the safety requirements for swimming pools and spas, ensuring compliance with Part 9A of the Building Regulation 2018. Your role involves registration and certification of barriers and managing a database of registered pools and spas. Join us in promoting safe and enjoyable aquatic activities in the community.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 5 role with a salary range between $80,490 and $89,430 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we're looking for
- A thorough understanding of the technical requirements for swimming pool and spa installations, and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Strong communication skills, to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from pool and spa owners to builders and contractors.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all registrations and certifications are completed correctly.
- A strong commitment to community safety and wellbeing, and a willingness to work collaboratively with other teams within the council to promote safe and enjoyable aquatic activities for all residents.
- Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
