Our Sydney CBD based NSW Government department is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Business Data Analyst for a strategic role based. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives that shape public service delivery and policy development across the various business units and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering data-driven insights to support evidence-based decision-making. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading complex data analysis and reporting projects across business units
  • Interpreting and communicating analytical findings to senior stakeholders
  • Applying critical thinking and problem-solving to inform strategic planning
  • Supporting the development of business cases and performance frameworks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and governance

  • Negotiation & Influencing – Proven ability to engage stakeholders and drive consensus
  • Attention to Detail – High level of accuracy in data handling and reporting
  • Planning & Organisation – Strong project management and prioritisation skills
  • Strategic Communication – Ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Customer Service Orientation – Commitment to understanding and meeting stakeholder needs
  • Technical & ICT Proficiency – Experience with tools such as SQL, Power BI, Excel, and other analytics platforms
  • Business Acumen – Understanding of government operations and policy environments
