Senior Data Technical Analyst

As a Senior Data Technical Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving end-to-end remediation strategies for business customers by leveraging data assets, analytics platforms, and risk intelligence. Working within cross-functional Agile squads, you will influence and guide complex remediation initiatives, collaborating with Product Owners, Risk, Compliance, Engineering, and Executive stakeholders. Your work will directly impact customer outcomes, regulatory obligations, and enterprise risk posture.
This is a high-impact role with a strong focus on leadership, strategic thinking, and technical excellence across data platforms, regulatory environments, and advanced analytics workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery
of advanced data-driven remediation strategies to identify, quantify, and resolve risk issues affecting business customers - Oversee
analytics development using SQL, Python, and R
to detect systemic issues, forecast financial impact, and automate decision-making processes - Own the design, development, and governance
of data solutions that track remediation actions, customer eligibility, and payment accuracy — ensuring auditability and compliance - Act as the
technical and strategic bridge
between analytics teams and business leaders, translating complex data requirements into business-aligned outcomes - Present findings and recommendations to
senior executives and General Managers
, with clear articulation of financial implications and risk posture - Champion the
automation of analytics workflows
across large and complex datasets to streamline issue detection, forecasting, and remediation tracking - Lead continuous improvement initiatives across tools, frameworks, and data governance processes to improve scalability, transparency, and regulator-readiness
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to
knowledge-sharing, code reviews, QA frameworks, and peer support - Engage with
internal audit, risk, and external regulatory bodies
to ensure data-driven remediation work meets relevant legal and compliance standards - Collaborate with technology, risk, and operations teams to implement scalable analytics infrastructure aligned with enterprise data strategy
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Expertise
- Minimum
10 years of experience
in Data Analytics, Risk Analytics, or Data Science roles with increasing responsibility - Advanced proficiency in
SQL
,
Python
, and/or
R
, especially in handling large datasets across distributed data platforms - Proven track record designing and building
automated analytical pipelines
and reporting frameworks - Strong understanding of
data governance, data lineage, and regulatory compliance standards - Experience working with
GitHub, CI/CD pipelines
, and collaborative development environments
Business & Regulatory Acumen
- In-depth knowledge of
financial services / banking products, systems, and remediation obligations - Proven ability to assess and communicate
regulatory risk impacts and financial exposures - Experience working with, or presenting to,
regulators (e.g., ASIC, APRA)
is highly desirable
Stakeholder Engagement
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience advising
General Manager and C-suite
stakeholders - Ability to simplify and translate complex analytics outcomes into actionable business decisions
- Experience leading cross-functional projects involving analytics, compliance, product, and legal teams
