About The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Student AccessAbility and Equity, the AccessAbility Education Coordinator is responsible for building the capability of educators and staff to support independent learning for students with disabilities. This role involves developing resources and delivering training sessions that promote best practices in inclusive education.

The coordinator also provides targeted support to students with access requirements, helping them engage more effectively with their studies through assistive technologies. In this role, the incumbent will coordinate and deliver project activities, manage stakeholder relationships, develop and maintain training materials, and report on progress.

They will identify training needs, create a schedule aligned with the Educator Capability Framework, and deliver professional development to staff on supporting students with disabilities and neurodivergent learners. The role also includes supporting students directly through training and troubleshooting, maintaining assistive technology platforms, and contributing to digital accessibility initiatives that enhance the student learning experience.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation pertaining to the rights of people living with disability and the responsibilities of educational institutions
  • Significant experience working with students with disabilities, medical and/or mental health conditions, demonstrating an ability to assess their learning needs including the application of assistive technology and determining adjustments to support students to succeed in their studies and to foster their independence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels with compassion and respect
  • Experience in the development, implementation and delivery of high-quality training programs including implementation of a continuous improvement process

Qualifications
Completion of a degree qualification with at least four years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in tertiary education; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
