Cloudstreet Consulting is proud to partner with the Northern Territory Government (NTG) to recruit a Project Governance Officer for a 6-month contract within Digital Project Services (DPS).
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Governance Officer to provide secretariat and governance support services across a portfolio of digital transformation projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to public sector innovation and deliver governance excellence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high quality administrative support for DPS Programs and Projects including preparing and maintaining documentation, information management, project reporting and briefing materials, ensuring compliance with project management frameworks and standards.
- Manage project performance reporting and outcome reporting systems, and prepare high quality reports, submissions and briefings.
- Provide data governance advice and support across DPS Programs and Projects, including provision of access, data governance advice and training, and monitoring compliance and management of data usage.
- Provide specialist advice to inform governance, quality assurance and risk mitigation frameworks, standards, and processes for the programs and projects being managed by DPS.
- Maintain and improve positive relationships with key stakeholders across each program and project to facilitate a collaborative approach to quality governance processes, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure Governance plans and processes are adhered to.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure alignment with other activities across the program and projects, actively participating and contributing innovative ideas and solutions for DPS Governance.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated high level secretariat skills including facilitating governance and steering committee meetings
- Demonstrated well-developed knowledge of governance and risk management frameworks with the ability to support projects through to completion within an environment of substantial change, shifting priorities, and political sensitivities.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of project administration processes and methodologies, with proven ability to apply conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve issues, and a commitment to continuous improvement through proactive research and the identification of innovative solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication, mediation, and negotiation techniques to communicate and collaborate with staff effectively at all levels, provide accurate guidance, data management, and successfully manage a wide network of stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to understand stakeholder perspective, expectations and adapt communication and approach as required, as well as contribute to the outcome-orientated frame of mind within the Governance team.
- Developed knowledge and techniques to deliver timely outcomes, manage multiple tasks and competing priorities, whilst retaining/creating excellent attention to detail and delivering a quality result.
- Demonstrated proficiency with managing and maintaining registers/databases and experienced in using software packages such as MS Office Suite, SharePoint and the ability to quickly acquire skills in project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV Project Management.
