Restaurant Manager – Pepper Lunch Highpoint

Location: Highpoint Shopping Centre, Maribyrnong VIC

Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per annum + performance bonuses

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (mix of weekdays and weekends)

Pepper Lunch is a leading quick-service restaurant brand known for our "sizzle it your way" hot plate experience. We serve fresh, high-quality meals in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Our Highpoint store is part of a successful, locally owned Pepper Lunch franchise group. We're seeking a hands-on, results-driven Restaurant Manager to lead operations, drive performance, and grow with our expanding business.

The Role

As Restaurant Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the restaurant — from operations and customer service to team leadership and financial performance. You'll lead from the front — ensuring consistent food quality, smooth service, cost control, and team engagement, all while delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold Pepper Lunch's quality and presentation standards.
  • Manage inventory level, ordering, and supplier relationships to maintain cost efficiency, product consistency, and stock accuracy.
  • Recruit, interview, and trial new team members, ensuring strong cultural and performance alignment.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a high-performing front and back-of-house team.
  • Prepare and manage staff rosters aligned with sales forecasts and labour budgets.
  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance at all times.
  • Monitor sales and cost reports, implementing strategies to achieve KPI targets (sales growth, labour %, COGS, customer satisfaction).
  • Execute local marketing and promotional initiatives to drive customer engagement and repeat visits.

  • Staff retention and team development

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Restaurant or Assistant Manager in QSR or casual dining.
  • Strong operational and people management skills.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, basic computer skills for roster management and reporting
  • Proven ability to meet KPIs and manage budgets effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on training, accountability, and customer service.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays in a shopping centre environment..
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
  • Full working rights in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
  • Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate for Victoria
